Japanese vocalist Sou, whose career began in the online utaite scene, released the digital single “Q.E.D.” alongside its official music video. The song continues his work with expressive vocals and narrative-driven music.
At the time of the original announcement, Sou had over 1.69 million YouTube subscribers and about 620,000 followers on X. Q.E.D. also connects his music to a new anime series.

Q.E.D. is the opening theme for Arne’s Case Files
“Q.E.D.” was selected as the opening theme for the television anime Arne’s Case Files, a mystery series with a suspenseful atmosphere. Its music was intended to reflect curiosity, uncertainty, and the emotions beneath the investigation.
The song was written and composed by Yuri Kuriyama (栗山夕璃). Sharp melodic lines and a tense arrangement give it an enigmatic feel that suits the anime while working as a separate release in Sou’s catalog.

Sou’s controlled but expressive vocal performance carries the complex emotions without turning the song into something overwrought.
A puzzle-filled music video with mystery and comedy
The official music video arrived with the digital single. It was animated by Nowoka (のをか), who had previously worked with Sou on the video for “Nero.”
The video follows a girl who becomes lost inside a mysterious Western-style mansion. She must solve puzzles set by the strange owner, with moments of light comedy contrasting with the unsettling setting.
The puzzles aren’t just background decoration. Viewers can try to solve them, and combining all the solutions reveals a hidden message. That interactive element gives the Q.E.D. music video another way to engage with its audience.
Q.E.D. and Sou’s fifth album, Panorama
Q.E.D. was also announced as a track on Sou’s fifth full-length album, Panorama, originally scheduled for March 4, 2026 with 12 tracks.
The album was planned to combine previously released digital singles with new material. In the original announcement, Q.E.D. offered an early indication of that musical direction.
Sou’s background: from utaite covers to international shows
Sou began posting cover songs to Nico Nico Douga in 2013. His emotive vocal style attracted attention, leading to a major-label debut in 2015. He later collaborated with creators including Nayutalien, Harumaki Gohan, and Eve.

His 2020 digital single “Mr. Fixer”, used as the opening theme for ID:INVADED, reportedly topped an international streaming chart for four consecutive weeks, according to the original press material.
After joining King Records in 2023, Sou marked his tenth career anniversary with the Orbit concert. The following year he released Sense of Wonder and undertook an extensive domestic tour and his first international tour in China.

The original press material described Sou as having more than 2.5 million followers across platforms at the time. These historical audience figures shouldn’t be taken as current counts.
