Who we are
This website is operated by Wordtura and can be accessed at https://wordtura.com.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect users’ personal data in accordance with applicable data protection principles.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on this site, we collect the information shown in the comment form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string for security and spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address, also known as a hash, may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Once your comment is approved, your profile picture, if available through Gravatar, will be publicly visible alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to this site, we recommend avoiding images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as other visitors can download and extract location data from images published here.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to improve convenience and the user experience.
If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies last for one year.
When you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is set to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser. When you log in, cookies are set to store your login information and screen display preferences:
- Login cookies last for two days.
- Screen display preference cookies last for one year.
- If you select “Remember Me”, your login session lasts for up to two weeks.
Login cookies are automatically removed when you log out.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie containing only the article ID is stored and expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded third-party content, such as videos, images, or articles.
Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the website it comes from. These third-party websites may collect data, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interactions with the embedded content, including when you have an account and are logged in to that third-party website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the password reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically rather than held in a moderation queue.
For users who register on this site, if any, the personal information they provide is stored in their user profiles. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for their username. Site administrators can view and edit that information as needed for administrative purposes.
Your rights over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including data you have provided to us.
You may also request that we erase the personal data we hold about you, except for data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, which may process certain data for spam detection purposes.
LiteSpeed Cache and QUIC.cloud
This site uses caching to speed up response times and improve the user experience. Caching may store a temporary copy of each web page displayed on this site.
All cache files are temporary and are not accessed by third parties unless technical support from the caching plugin vendor or a related service provider is required.
Cache files expire according to a schedule set by the site administrator and may be deleted earlier by the administrator when necessary.
We may use QUIC.cloud services to process and temporarily store some data for content optimisation and delivery. QUIC.cloud’s privacy policy is available at https://quic.cloud/privacy-policy/.
Forms and WPForms Lite
We use the WPForms Lite plugin to manage contact forms and data collection through this site. Information submitted through forms, such as names, email addresses, and messages, is stored in the Wordtura site database and managed by us as the data controller.
Privacy information on forms is displayed as a notice, without a consent checkbox, to give users transparency about the purposes of data collection and use before they submit a form.
Further information about WPForms’ privacy practices is available in its official privacy policy:
https://wpforms.com/privacy-policy/
Email and Hostinger Reach (registered contact synchronisation)
This site uses Hostinger Reach for email and newsletter management. Contacts registered on this site, including data collected through forms, may be synchronised with Hostinger Reach for contact list management, email delivery, and campaign analysis.
Hostinger Reach acts as a data processor on our behalf. Users may unsubscribe from emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in each email. They may also request access to or deletion of their data through the site administrator.
Hostinger’s privacy policy is available at:
https://www.hostinger.com/privacy-policy
Cloudflare CDN and cache storage
This site uses Cloudflare as a content delivery network (CDN) to improve access speed, security, and service stability. Cloudflare acts as an intermediary between visitors and the site server by storing temporary cached copies of static content and managing network traffic.
In this process, Cloudflare may process certain technical data, such as IP addresses, device information, and network metadata, solely for content delivery, performance optimisation, and security protection, including attack mitigation and malicious traffic filtering. Wordtura does not use this data to personally identify users.
Cache files are temporary and managed in accordance with Cloudflare’s retention policies. They may be updated or deleted periodically as technically necessary.
Use of Cloudflare services is subject to Cloudflare’s privacy policy, available at:
https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
